Itinerary

Day 1Hurghada to The Giza Pyramids and the Museum

Your driver will pick you up at 3:00 AM from your hotel in Hurghada and drive you to Cairo, which takes approximately 5 hours.

Once you arrive in Cairo, your tour guide will be waiting for you to take you to visit the Pyramids of Giza, including the famous Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus pyramids. You will also visit the Great Sphinx, which dates back to ancient times, and the Valley Temple.

Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Giza during your Pyramids visit.

Afterwards, you will visit the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities located in Tahrir Square. The museum boasts a rare collection of over 250,000 genuine artifacts that date back to 5000 years ago, including an exclusive exhibit dedicated to Tutankhamen – a collection of treasures, gold, and jewelry that were buried in his tomb for over 3,500 years before they were discovered in 1920 when his tomb was excavated.

If you wish to visit the royal hall of mummies, you may ask your tour guide to take you to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, and you will be required to pay 200 Egyptian Pounds for this. Note that the New Grand Museum is not open yet, but it will be open soon, possibly by the end of 2021 or in 2022.

You will spend the night in a hotel in Hurghada.

As an optional activity, you may choose to participate in the sound and light show at the Giza Pyramids, which costs $40 per person.

Day 2Hurghada- to the white desert

At 06:00 am, our driver will pick you up from your hotel in either Giza or Hurghada. We will then embark on a journey to Bahariya Oasis, which is situated approximately 350 km east of Hurghada. The drive takes about 4 hours, with stops along the way for WC breaks and coffee.

By 10:00 am, we will have arrived at Bahariya Oasis, where you will hop on a 4×4 Jeep and head to the Black Desert. At noon, we will stop for lunch in El Haize oasis.

After lunch, we will drive to the Valley of Agabat, arriving by 3:00 pm. This valley is deep within the White Desert of Egypt and must be experienced firsthand to appreciate its otherworldly beauty. The unique rock formations of limestone, chalk, and sand were developed millions of years ago when the area was under the sea.

At 4:30 pm, we will explore the White Desert National Park, one of the most well-known desert destinations in Egypt, and admire the stunning white desert scenery. By 5:30 pm, we will set up tents and watch the sunset.

As the sky turns pink and fiery orange, the rock formations fade into the background, and silence envelops the area. Sitting around a small fire and enjoying a simple meal of chicken, rice, and vegetables, you will feel like nothing has ever tasted so good. Our Bedouin staff will prepare dinner and arrange for desert camping.

Day 3Bahariya oasis to Cairo

At 6:00 am, watch the sunrise.

At 7:00 am, have breakfast in the desert before driving to Bahariya Oasis.

At 9:00 am, visit Crystal Mountain on the way back. The hill, locally known as Gebel al-Izzaz or the Jewel of the desert, is made of quartzite crystals and looks stunning in the sunlight. It was discovered accidentally a few decades ago.

At 11:00 am, drive to Bahariya Oasis and relax in Bir Sigam, a hot spring located 7 km east of Bahariya on the Hurghada road. In summertime, stop at Bir Madi, a cold spring.

At 12:00 pm, drive back to Cairo and arrive at 4:30 pm. You can add lunch for an extra $15 per person.

We have two extra options for you to discover more about the oasis:

Option 1:

If you want to learn more about the history of Bahariya Oasis, we recommend an extra trip to the Museum of the Golden Mummies, Bawiti Tombs, and Alexander the Great Temple. Visit the tombs of Bannentiu and Djed-Ankh-Amun-Iuf (Zed-Amun) at Qasr Selim, discovered by Egyptian archaeologist Ahmed Fakhry in 1938. Visit Bawiti, the capital of Bahariya Oasis, and then the Museum of the Golden Mummies and the Temple of Ain El Muftella in Bahariya Oasis. Have lunch in Bahariya Oasis before driving to Hurghada.

This will cost an extra $35 per person, and $50 for a single traveler.

Option 2:

Book an extra three-hour Bahariya Oasis tour. Discover the palm and olive fields, Gebel Maghrafa, where the biggest Diansour (Stromer’s Tidal Giant) was ever discovered in 1914, and the base of Gebel Dist. Visit Lake al-Marun, the biggest salt lake in Bahariya Oasis, and enjoy the sunset from the summit of the English Mountain (Gebel Al Ingleez), which offers a panoramic view of the northern part of the oasis. Then, drive to Cairo.

This will cost an extra $35 per person, and $50 for a single traveler.

Day 4Old Cairo

Your Egyptologist tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo or Giza at 8:00 am. From there, you will head to the Saladin Citadel, built by Salah al-Din in 1183 AD as a defense against Crusader armies. The citadel is located on the Moqattam Hills and offers stunning views of Cairo and fresh air. It is now a preserved historic site, featuring mosques and museums such as the Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha, designed by the Turkish architect Yousif Boushnaq. The mosque’s alabaster structure provides a beautiful contrast to the sandstone city.

Afterwards, you will have lunch at a local restaurant in Old Cairo. Then, you will visit the major attractions of Old Cairo, including the Hanging Church, the Ben Ezra Synagogue, the Church of St. Barbara, and the Church of Abu Serga, one of the oldest Coptic churches in Cairo.

The tour will continue to the Khan el-Khalili Bazaar, one of the oldest bazaars in the Middle East. It has been the center of Cairo’s trading activities since the 14th century. After this amazing trip, you will be transferred to Cairo airport for your international departure. If you wish to extend your stay in Cairo, please contact us.
